Performer
Violinist Elizabeth Wright is a New York City based performer and teacher. She has performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Kennedy Center, United Nations, Carnegie Hall, and on stages in Germany, Switzerland, China, and around the US.
Liz is violinist and co-founder of the Luminae Trio, a chamber group which illuminates and celebrates lesser-known music of the past and present. The trio is a recipient of the 2021 City Artist Corps Grant and a prize winner of the 2021 Lancaster Chamber Music Competition. In addition to the accolades received by the trio, Liz has received chamber music recognition as winner of the 2015 Ruth Widder String Quartet Competition, winner of Manhattan School of Music’s 2015 Kraeuter Musical Foundation award, and as a three-time winner of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition.
Alongside Liz’s pursuits in chamber music, she performs with the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, Bach Choir of Bethlehem, freelances in and around New York, and teaches a committed roster of private students young and old. Liz earned a Bachelor of Music from University of Michigan and a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Aaron Berofsky, Andrew Jennings, and Laurie Smukler. She received additional training on full scholarships at the Weimar Bach Academy, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and National Repertory Orchestra. She was honored to be accepted to the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme of 2020, but was unable to attend as a result of the pandemic.
Liz spends summers coaching and performing at the Vermont Music and Arts Center.

TeacherLiz has been teaching privately for over a decade. She has worked with students aged 3 to 83, ranging the complete span of level and ability. She spends summers performing and coaching at the Vermont Music & Arts Center, working with amateurs on the great string quartet and piano chamber music repertoire.
Liz received pedagogical training from Carol Aicher and Peter Andreacchi at Manhattan School of Music, and brings to her teaching more than 10 years of professional performance experience.
